Somerset State was launched in April 2023 by Evolves founder, Matt Cairns who previously lived in San Francisco. With the aim of providing as many children of all ages and abilities the opportunity to access fantastic coaching in the game of basketball. Somerset State quickly grew from the first coaching centre in Midsomer Norton to three coaching Centres across Somerset, with the third opening in Langport in September 2024. 

Somerset State currently coaches over 140 children per week and is proud to have such brilliant coaches working across our venues ensuring the fun, development and safety of all our young basketball players. 

In 2025 we hope to provide more game opportunities for our players against other local clubs and be able to start hosting our very own intra club games vs our coaching centres.

We currently have Somerset State Coaching Centres in the following locations:

• Langport

Our team of qualified experienced coaches are dedicated to helping your young players achieve their goals. Whether they are only just getting into the game of basketball and learning the basics, to playing regional level for another club and looking for fantastic extra coaching we have role model coaches to support your players reach their level of success!
